Obituary: ISAAC PINKERTON OF DURHAM BURIED - Had Passed Away at Home of Son After Long Illness -DURHAMm Sept. 20, 1941 - The funeral service of the late Isaac Pinkerton, who died at the home of his son Frederick, on Bruce Street, after a long illness, was held from his son's residence and conducted by Rev. R.S. Jones. The remains were laid to rest in AMos cemetery, Dromore, By John Henry, William Ryan, John Whyte, Allen Picken, Carl Fry, Frederick Pinkerton. Mr. Pinkerton was born in King 87 years ago and was twice married. First to Alice Harrison, who died in 1901 and in 1916 to Mrs. Effie McPhail of Priceville, who survives. Two sons and four daughters survive: John in Harriston; Fred with the Veterans Guard at Gravenhurst; Annie, Mrs. Peter Watson; Ella, Mrs. Percy Bengough; Ettie, Mrs. James Morse, all in Vancouver and Mrs. William Curdt of Durham. There are two brothers, Joseph, residing in Toronto; Bert in Long Branch and two sisters in Owen SOund; Mrs. J. Wolfe and Mrs. I. McRoberts.

1. Obituary: MRS. F. MACROBERT PASSES ON MONDAY - Many friends in this city, where she had resided for the past forty years, will learn with deapest regret of the death on Monday afternoon of Mrs. Freeman MacRobert, in her 75th Year. Deceased met with an accident on Friday evening, when she was struck by a car driven by Alvin Leonard, 987 7th Avenue East. The accident occured on 4th Avenue west, south of the intersection of that street and 13th street "A" west. No charge will be laid in connection with the accident, police who investigated holding it unavoidable. Mrs. MacRoberts did not suffer any broken bones, but the shock, at her advanced age, proved too great and she died after a brief illness. Her death occured at the home of her son, Windsor MacRobert, 1189 3rd Avenue west, with whom she had made her home since the death on December 11 last of her husband, Ex-Mayor Freeman MacRobert. Besides her son, there are left to mourn her loss a sister, Emma, Mrs Joseph Wolfe, of Montreal, and two grandchildren. E.R.A. Gordon MacRobert, serving in the R.C.N.V.R. aboard a minesweeper, and Marion MacRobert at home. The late Mrs. MacRobert's maiden name was Henrietta. SHe was born at CLifford, Ontario.

Obituary: Walkerton, April 17, 1931(Friday) - A well know farmer of this district, resident of the village of Pinkerton, in the person of Mr. David Pinkerton, sied at his home in that place late Tuesday night in his 75th Year. Troubled for the past couple of years with hardening of the arteries, he had been very well during the past winter, but a spell a week ago confined him to his bed, and from which he expired. The late Mr. Pinkerton, was the last of the family of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Pinkerton, pioneers of Greenock Township. He was born on the farm on the outskirts of Pinkerton and lived there all his life. He retired some few years ago from the agricultural life and was suceeded by his son, Loyd, with whom he continued to make his home. Mrs. David Pinkerton, who predeceased her husband in 1912, was before her marriage, Miss Jessie Greary. Mr. Pinkerton's sterling character gained for him many friends and aquaintances. Some years ago he was a member of the Township Council. In politics he was a Conservative and in Religion a Presbyterian, having served as an elder of that church for years. Surviving are two sons and four daughters, Harold of Edmonton, and Lloyd at Pinkerton; Ethel, Mrs. Wes. Birrel of Pinkerton, Gertie, Mrs. Alfred Fiddis of Chesley; Kathleen, wife of Rev. Jas. Gale of Sarnia and Miss Jennie, nurse-in-training at the Sarnia General Hospital. Funeral is being held Friday to Douglas Hill Cemetery.
