Individual Note:
     1. Notes for ALEXANDER PEARCY: from Donald MacDonald
[Pearcy1.FTW]
Alexander's will indicates that he owned a farm in Indiana. His wife inherited the farm but there is no mention of her name. Walter Talmage Pearcy petitioned the surrogate court in the case of his will. Walter is living in Harriston, Wellington county, Ontario at the time of the petition. That seems to be were Alexander died.

Alexander's brothers and sister are: James, John, David, Thomas, William, Gilbert, and Jane. Jane's married name is Bell.

He owned two properties in Toronto, Canada. #155 Shaw Street, and lots 2 & 4 Paimerston Square, plan 219.

In his will he gave $1000 to: Mary Jane, Elizabeth (Birdie), and Susan, daughters of his late bother Gilbert (1835-1878), Jane Pearcy, Gilberts wife also got $1000. They lived in Toronto, Ontario.

Mimie Pearcy, daughter of his late bother William (1843 - 1876). The will says she lives in California, no mention of were.

Jennie Pearcy, daughter of his late brother Thomas (1847 - ?). Thomas wife name was Agnes, theylived in Barrie, Ontario. Agnes got $1000

John, Samual, Harry Pearcy, sons of his brotherJames (1844 - 1917), his daughters were Jane (Dale) and Ella (Lyon). James got $2000 his wife Eliza Ann got $1000. They lived in Tottenham, Ontairo.

Walter, William, Garfield, and John Pearcy, sonsof John (1846 - ?). Johns wife's name was Carrie(Naugle). Carrie got $500. No mention of John. They lived in Toronto.

George and Walter Pearcy, sons of David (1851 - 1924). Davids wife's name was Nellie. David got $2000, Nellie got $1000. In the will Alexander has Walter living in the town Harriston, county of Wellington. I belive this is the Walter that petition the court. The rest of them lived in Toronto, Ontario.

Jane (Bell), his sister got $2000. She lived in Barrie.

Margret Pearcy, his niece got $450. It is not clear from the will were she fits in or were she lives. His brother Gilbert had a daughter named Margret. She is not mention**

** Gilbert and Jane had 5 daughters; Martha Ann, Mary Jane, Gilberta Isabella (Waghorn), Susan Elizabeth, and Margret. This information is from the will of Martha Ann Pearcy, spinster. Died 21 February, 1916 in Toronto, Ontario. This for some reason does not fit with Alexander's will. Martha Ann, Susan Elizabeth, Margret, and mother Jane are all buried at St. James cemetery, Toronto, Ontairo.

He gave $4000 each to two Presbyterian churches. One in White county, Indiana, the other in Tottenham, Ontario (Fraser). He gave another $3000 to a third Presbyterian. church in Indiana.

Alexander is buried in Tottenham (Fraser Presbyterian) without his wife, near the family farm he grew up at.

The 1901 census has Thomas living in Barrie working as a painter. Annual income is $400. He earns a extra income of $350, I assume from a loger noted in the census.

Alexander, his brother, mentions in his will that Thomas is dead before 1916. He also mentions that Thomas has a daughter named Jennie, no mention of Martha.

     1. Notes for GILBERT PERCY: [Pearcy1.FTW] From Donald MacDonald
An artical written by Thomas Edward Champion, 1899 (Methodist Churches of Toronto) on Gilbert and Margaret (Sanderson) Pearcy indicate that the family came to Canada around 1820 from County Down Ireland. The spelling of the name may originaly have been PERCY. It looks like the spelling was changed bwtween 1840-1850. See notes for Gilbert F. Pearcy.

Bartholomew Bull was witness at two of his daughters weddings. He lived at Concession 2, lot number 29 (concessions from the bay). Richard Mossop was a witness at his daughter Mary's wedding. Richard latter married Sarah, Gilberts other daughter.
