John lived within a few yards of his father's homestead. In 1902 moved south 3 miles and while there built one of the the finest homes in the district with its own lights and waterworks. They had 2 sons and 3 daughters. He died at age 74 in 1935.

in 1883 Mr. D. Wilkie and sons Neil and John came from Ontario and homesteaded south of Pense. After a short residence they then moved north and west of Pense and settled in a wooded coulee. In June 1884 Mrs. Wilkie and the rest of the family came to the district. This large family consisted of 10 sons and 3 daughters and made a contribution to the Pense district. The family attended Bruceville School and Forest Church. cont. on pg 179...

Owns 1 carriage, 4 wagons, 3 ploughs, 1 farming mill. 3 horses, 2 milch cows, 9 sheep, 5 swine, produced 20 lbs butter and 28 yds of homemade fabric. The 1871 census has listing of crops, farm animals, farm implements plus further info. I have not listed the complete items but have given an idea of the wealth of the family.

George Thomas Street & his four brothers and four sisters lived at Meaford, Ont. They were the family of Richard Finch Street and Mary Ann (Godson) Street. Mary Ann Street , mother of George Street .....She came out West with her two daughters Mrs. Annie Wilkie & Mrs Sophia Badley. My note show Mrs. Annie (Street ) married James Wilkie.

Mary Ann Street was one of the first to be buried in Stoney Beach Cemetery in 1924.

Mrs. Ann Street Passes Away at 86 Years of Age - Came West Over 25 Years Ago
Mrs. Mary Ann Street, Keystown pioneer, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Sophia Bradley of Keystown, early Sunday morning from senile decay. She was 86 years of age.
Mrs. Street came west from Owen Sound more than 25 years ago, and had lived on a farm near Keystown since then. She was predeceased by her husband about 20 years ago, and is survived by her three daughters, Mrs. Bradley, Mrs. Annie Wilkie, Stony Beach; Mrs. H.G. Hammond, 1615 Fourteenth Avenue, Regina; and five sons, George T., at Stony Beach; J. Richard at Port Hammond, BC; Charles at Owen Sound, and Joseph and Robert, both of Chilliwack, BC.
Arrangements have been made to hold funeral services from the Presbyterian Church, Stony Beach, Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock and interment will be in the Stony Beach cemetery. Speer's funeral home of Regina has charge of the arrangements.

STREETS: George and Jennie Street had a family of nine children, four sons and five daughters.
Victor their eldest son, his sister Gladys and Melville moved here with their parents before 1900, from Owen Sound, Ontario.
George Street died in 1929. Jennie Street retired to Stony Beach about 1950. She lived there with her sister, Hattie McMahon until her death in 1954.

4. Their son Victor: Victor enlisted in Moose Jaw in 1914 and was sent overseas the next spring. He was not released to come home until the winter of 1919. In 1919 Victor moved onto the farm of his Uncle John Street after he returned from overseas. Victor married Ada. Victor and Ada retired to Moose Jaw in 1949. Victor passed away in 1962. Ada still lived in Moose Jaw. Victor and Ada had two sons, William George (Bill) and Joseph Lorne (Joe).

5. Bill was born in 1926 and raised on the farm four miles north and one mile east of Stony Beach, sixteen miles from Pense. He still lives on that farm, hauls his grain to Stony Beach and serves on the council for the R.M. of Pense #16. Bill like his father went to Stony Beach School #186. Victor walked to Stony Beach School until Rocky Lane School was built in 1902. Bill rode horse back to Rocky Lake School until his teacher, Mrs. Elsie Ross, went to Stony Beach school to teach so that he could take her with the horse and buggy.
Bill married Frances Cooke in 1949. They have two children - a daughter Jean Irene and a son Kenneth George. Jean and Ken went to Stony Beach School. They went to high school and boarded in Moose Jaw. Jean married Dan Wiebe. They have one son Lyle and live in Saskatoon. Ken married Shelley Ambrose, Moose Jaw. They have one daughter, Julie, and one son, Rick James. Julie goes to school on the bus to Moose Jaw. After living most of his life in the brick house, Bill is now building a new house three miles away so that he can overlook his herd of Aberdeen Angus cattle. Ken and his family now live in the brick house.
The Street family are very sports minded They have played ball and hockey with and against the Pense teams. They enjoy curling and do so whenever possible. Bill has been a councillor for the R.M. of Pense for twenty years and is now the Reeve. His father Victor served on the council also, and told us of the time he had to get to Pense to the meetings with team and sleigh.

6. Joe and Audrey moved to Moose Jaw in 1974. Joe keeps in touch with Stony Beach by driving the school bus. Their three sons Robert, Gordon and Raymond live in the Stony Beach area. Their daughter Brenda, lives in Moose Jaw. All are married.

John Street staked his claim on a homestead on the NE 1/4 of 18-18-23 in 1894. John and three more brothers George, Joseph and Robert came west to Pense on the C.P.R., then with team and wagon to claim adjoining homesteads. They built homes and carried most of their supplies from Pense. Later John and Robert moved onto B.C. after the brick house was built in 1917. Their nephew Victor, son of George, moved onto John's farm. Joseph also moved west.
