HENRY (HARRY) FRANCIS JAMES FIGSBY It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Harry, surrounded by love, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. He was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Annie; brother Ken; sisters Eileen, Pat and Lorraine. He leaves to mourn his wife June; daughter Joanne (Ken) Basson; son Michael and grandchildren Jenna and Joel Basson; sister-in-law Rae (Frank) Graves, Lakeland, Fla; brother-in-law Charles (Agnes) Stuart, Vancouver, B.C.; brother-in-law Alan Hammond; his nephews Dan (Mary) Figsby, Roy (Edie) Hammond, Albert (Hammond) and their families, Winnipeg, Mb. plus many other family members and friends. Harry retired from Canadian Pacific in 1986 after 38 years of service and enjoyed his retirement years to the fullest. He loved to travel and spend time with family, neighbours and friends. His other great love was his music. He was a past member of the Optimist Club of Assiniboia and enjoyed the fellowship for many years. His enjoyment of life touched all who knew him. The family wishes to thank the staff at GH6, as well as those in intensive care, Health Science Centre, for their wonderful care, patience and compassion during Harry's struggle. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. Private interment will follow at a later date. A celebration of Harry's life will be held Friday, December 1, at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue followed by a gathering of family and friends. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba, ON109-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB.
